They Let Me Go Deaf for Her Piano

Maeve, a gifted snow-leopard pianist, loses the hearing in her right ear after Aria deliberately throws a lit firework toward her. Seven years later, Aria returns to a loving welcome, while Maeve discovers the truth: her hearing could have been saved, but her family canceled the surgery and spent the money on Aria’s music school and piano.

Betrayed by her parents and fiancé Damon, Maeve leaves for Westhaven to rebuild her life. Only then do they realize their regret has come too late.
