Maria, a lop-eared rabbit orphan, grew up in a boar-folk village. Because whatever she said always came true, the villagers saw her as a cursed child and drove her into a cowshed to live alone. Duchess Ethelyn stumbled upon Maria while lost, and Maria's blessing unexpectedly cured Ethelyn of a chronic illness she'd suffered for years.
