You Don't Deserve the Archangel's Mercy

To repay a debt from ten years ago, the archangel Uriel hides as the gardener of the Whitmore estate. Beneath its grounds he has sealed Grot, a powerful demon that can split itself. While he waits for the Blood Moon a decade later, the night Grot is weakest, to destroy it for good, he secretly trains Iris, the family’s most magically gifted daughter, as the estate’s future guardian.

But when the old patriarch Edmund dies, his heartless heirs turn a fight over the will into a campaign to humiliate and abuse Uriel. The ambitious Cedric, desperate to bury the deal he made with the demon ten years ago, burns the will’s crucial warning, frames Uriel for murder, and has him condemned in a public trial at the council hall and tied to the stake. In the holy fire, Uriel awakens as a six-winged archangel, declares the guardian covenant broken, and leaves, taking his divine power with him. That night the Blood Moon rises and the seal shatters. Hordes of demon clones pour out, and the Whitmore family faces annihilation. Iris races back to the estate and holds the line with the magic Uriel quietly taught her over ten years. Uriel never truly left: he discovers that Grot has spent the decade secretly splitting off countless clones, and every one must be destroyed before the Blood Moon ends. On the battlefield the two meet again and go from opposing sides to fighting side by side.
