Synopsis

In a world where monsters hunt humans, the Mage King Kane drives back the vampire hordes, and one cursed night leaves him with a son he never knew about. Twelve years later, that boy, Caleb, is a village outcast branded a "Jinx." He grows up in a livestock pen with his devoted mother Annie, mocked as a worthless idiot. When Caleb shatters the Testing Stone with a nine-star talent that only the Mage King has ever matched, the Magic Academy takes him in as a mere auditor.

There, snobbish nobles, scheming classmates and vampires lurking in the shadows all test him. He wins two loyal friends, the Dean's granddaughter Molly and the bullied Tony. Then a deadly Freshman Trial exposes a traitor at the heart of the Kingdom. As the Mage King closes in on the truth about his family, Caleb has to decide how much of his power to reveal.
