On September 21, 2022, Jamie Roy’s family wrote on Facebook that he had passed away.

According to a message from Jamie’s family, he passed away yesterday. “Jamie was a loved and successful son, brother, nephew and uncle. His friends and colleagues in and out of the music industry were very fond of him. Each of us is heartbroken.

The singer died suddenly and tragically just after announcing earlier this month that his new single Let Us Sing, which he called “the best track”, would be available soon.

The cause of death of Jamie Roy

This week, Roy posted on Instagram how well the single was doing.

“Well, Organ Belta will be one year old next week!” “I just took a look and it’s at number 37 and still on the house charts 51 weeks later [mind blown emoji]”, he wrote on Monday, September 19.

“I am also the 46th best-selling house artist. Thank you all so much big up @patricktopping @tricklabel couldn’t have done it without you guys [heart emoji]organ belta 2 is coming…”

Many of Roy’s fellow producers commented on his last post to pay their respects and respects.

“Devastated!!! Bro, we love you. We’ll see you again soon,” the Hot Since 82 producer wrote.

Hannah Wants said, “You are a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. RIP.”

The family of Scottish DJ and producer Jamie Roy said in a statement that he had passed away.

The Roy family wrote on Facebook today (September 21) that their son, who often frequented clubs in Ibiza, died on Tuesday.

“Jamie passed away yesterday,” the post first said. “Jamie was a talented and beloved son, brother, nephew and uncle. His many friends and colleagues in the music business and beyond loved him as well. We are all very sad.

Roy started out as a DJ in clubs in Glasgow. He then moved to Ibiza and performed sets all over Europe and further afield.

Last year, his song “Organ Belta” was released on the Trick label, run by Patrick Topping. Days before his death, he marked the song’s first anniversary on Instagram by writing, “Well Organ Belta will be one year old next week! I just checked, and it’s still on the house charts 51 weeks later at number 37. It’s up 24 spots since yesterday.

“I’m also the 46th best-selling house artist, thanks to all of you,” he said. “Organ Belta 2 is coming,” he added.

After news of Roy’s death spread, many DJs and artists paid their respects. Trick boss Topping was one of them.

The DJ posted a photo of himself with Jamie Roy and wrote: ‘Gassed to hear of the death of Jamie Roy such a good boy.’

Rowetta, who has worked with Happy Mondays, Gorillaz, and many others, added, “Such a sad, sad loss. So young, so smart, so beautiful, funny and kind. We’ve had some of the best nights at Ibiza with him and the guys.

“Love to all his friends and family. We will never forget you and everyone will miss you.

During Roy’s time in Ibiza he had a residency with Ibiza Rocks and performed at Amnesia, DC-10 and other venues.

He joined Ultra Records last year and released the single “Fantasy” featuring Huxley and DJ Rae.

What did Jamie Roy do?

Jamie was best known as a popular DJ in the clubs of Ibiza. He performed sets at Steve Lawler’s Warriors party and Nic Fanciulli’s Dance Or Die residency, among others.

As a producer, Roy has released music on labels like Skream’s Of Unsound Mind, Under No Illusion and Patrick Topping’s Trick. In 2021, Roy’s biggest track, “Organ Belta”, was released on Trick.

He has also performed at clubs and festivals across the UK such as Circus in Liverpool, BPM Costa Rica and the Unum Festival in Albania.

Grego O’Halloran, Unum’s manager, told Resident Advisor he “took a risk” booking Jamie because he wasn’t exactly good at the festival and neither was his music.

“But Jamie became one of the most popular performers and changed everything about the festival in terms of what it was about and who it was for.

“He gave everyone his addictive anthem ‘Organ Belta,’ which turned after-hours parties into utter chaos.”

He also said: “Jamie was a DJ who was willing to go through many seasons in Ibiza to get the recognition he deserved.”

“Always popular and smart about how to do things, it’s sad that such a talented artist’s career was cut short so quickly. We miss you Jamie already.

Who said anything nice about the late producer and DJ?

Since Jamie’s death became public knowledge, DJs and fans have sent their condolences in droves.

Camelphat wrote on Twitter: “RIP JAMIE ROY one of the good guys in this crazy deal. Your family and friends are in our thoughts. I will miss you.”

Patrick Topping posted a photo of himself with Jamie and wrote, “Gaussed to hear of the death of Jamie Roy such a good boy.”

Defected Records also sent out a tweet that read, “RIP When we heard this morning that Jamie had passed away, we were all very sad.

“A great DJ, producer and friend to many in our company. His family and friends are in our thoughts. Shine bright, Jamie.

“I’m still in shock over what happened to my good friend Jamie Roy. Definitely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. “I love you bro, rest in heaven,” wrote Waifs & Strays, another DJ.
