1997 was a busy year for Dina Meyer. Not only did she make her debut as Dizzy Flores in Starship Trooper, but she landed a major TV gig as well. Meyer guest-starred on three episodes of Friends in 1997, playing Kate Miller, a beautiful actress who appeared alongside Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) in a doomed regional theater play. In the episodes “The One with the Tiny T-shirt”, “The One with the Dollhouse”, and “The One with the Screamer” (via IMDb), Joey fell hard when Miller’s character forced him to go through romantic torment. Kate Miller’s character was a heartthrob, which was the exact opposite of her “Starship Trooper” alter ego, who joined the Mobile Infantry to go after soldier Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien).

Q&A on her official Web site, Meyer recalled her recurring role on the most popular sitcom of the 1990s. “I was thrilled to be able to work on such a great show,” she told fans. “Playing with Matt Leblanc was a really highlight.”

Interestingly, Meyer’s role in Starship Trooper was almost identical to that of her Friends co-star Denise Richards. In a 2015 video interview published by Red Carpet News TVMeyer stated that she was originally supposed to audition for the role of Carmen Ibáñez in the film. but she changed the plan. “Initially, my agent sent me the script and thought I would be a better fit for the role of Carmen, played by Denise Richards,” Meyer said. “When I read the script, I just gravitated towards Dizzy more.”
