One of the most startling revelations of the season finale is Christina informing the audience that there is no more intelligent life left on Earth. From her point of view, this seems like a correct statement, but we know that C (short for “Cookie”, aka Caleb’s daughter, Frankie) and her fellow resistance members are still out there somewhere. We’ve also seen several people have been replaced by hosts throughout the series, which begs the question – are any of them still left, or were they all wiped out in William’s sadistic final game? Last season, Rehoboam predicted the end of civilization in 23 years, and that prediction will come true if all those possible survivors run out of steam.

In Episode 2, Senator Ken Whitney’s (Jack Coleman) host informs Maeve that there are 249 other Halores-manufactured upgraded hosts in the world. In the penultimate episode, after attempting to execute Haloras for wanting to surrender human cities, William uses the Tower to infuriate the people. Let us emphasize that Halores speaks of “cities” and not of “cities”, which leads us to believe that she conquered much more than just a futuristic New York. Can other hosts hide in the world for their own survival? Perhaps next season we are waiting for new faces with new answers.
