During a recent interview with Total FilmDwayne Johnson explained that one of Black Adam’s goals is to further expand the DC Extended Universe, introduce fans to many new characters, and even create certain crossover films. Surprisingly, he would like one of those crossovers to be between Marvel and DC, bringing together heroes from both cinematic universes.
“I’m optimistic,” the actor said. “Across the street, we have a pantheon of Marvel superheroes and supervillains. For me, they not only can exist, but, in my opinion, one day they must intersect. Such a mind-blowing crossover event is certainly an exciting prospect, and it’s happened a few times in comics already, most notably in Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, DC vs. Marvel, and George Pérez. – illustrated by “JLA/Avengers”.
As unlikely as a DCEU-MCU crossover is, the precedent set by the comics makes it clear that such a project is not out of the question. Either way, it’s certainly interesting to hear one of the DCEU’s newest stars express her enthusiasm for such a revolutionary idea.
