Ino is a prodigy from the Yamanaka clan, and thanks to the “Shippuden”, she even becomes a skilled medical ninja. But compared to her partners, Shikamaru and Chouji, in Naruto, she cannot be considered the strongest of the three. And indeed, this is because her clan’s abilities are not suitable for frontal combat. Ino’s main skill is the Mind-Body Switching Technique, which allows her to possess another person (through Narutopedia). But the trade-off is that the possession leaves her body in a completely vulnerable state. As seen in the pages of Naruto Manga Chapter 534 (via namely), Ino is able to develop her family technique to lock onto multiple targets, but this results in her body unconsciously falling onto Shikamaru’s back.
Other members of her team don’t have to deal with such a huge setback. In fact, Shikamaru and Chōji have shown their impressive fighting prowess compared to Ino. With the ability to significantly increase his body in size, Choji could probably smash enemies with his giant fist like a fly swatter. And of course, Shikamaru’s shadow manipulation isn’t too dangerous in and of itself. Fortunately, thanks to his strategic thinking, any battle scenario seems like a simple game of shoji. Any enemy who sees Shikamaru as easy prey should ask Hidan’s buried head before engaging in combat. Basically, Ino needs her teammates to win a colossal fight, but don’t think that detracts from her usefulness.
