According to a Reddit thread titled “Gosh, the soundtrack is great,” many Sons of Anarchy fans really enjoyed the show’s music. Plenty of fans have praised the Forest Rangers in particular for bringing their talents to the majority of the tracks, which this user says are effectively placed on the show.
For example, this user claimed that “Come Join the Murder” is the perfect song for the final scene, while “Day is Gone” is the perfect backdrop for the death of Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff). Other Sons of Anarchy fans seemed to agree. In one comment, u/rapscallionrodent said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show have such a strong soundtrack and use music so well in its scenes.”
Other commenters shared their favorite musical moments from the series. For example, u/xinfinitimortum provided other favorite songs for the soundtrack such as “Oh Darlin’ What Have I Done” by White Buffalo and “John the Revelator” by Curtis Steegers and the Forest Rangers. This user also applauded the inclusion of Katey Sagal on the soundtrack, calling her “pretty cool”.
In another comment, u/eZCoffeeE commented that they especially liked the Battleme song “Hey Hey, My My” from the last episode of Season 3. Regarding Ed Sheeran’s contribution, u/007Kryptonian called it “fantastic and powerful”.
Of course, not everyone is given to enjoy everything. On another Reddit thread, u/gucci_floca_flame asked, “Is there a reason WHY [Sons of Anarchy] does it have the worst soundtrack? While some commentators have agreed with this, Sons of Anarchy fans have mostly come to the defense of the music. Replying to this comment, u/xLite414 wrote, “SoA is the only show I actually bought the soundtracks for because of how good the music is. Many are of the same opinion that SoA also has great music.”
