Get Up, an ESPN morning show, has had Mike Greenberg as its anchor since it began airing in 2018, according to ESPNpressroom. In October 2021, he was also tapped to host NBA Countdown, the venerable NBA pre-game show produced by ESPN and ABC.

He then hosted SportsCenter for several years after Mike & Mike premiered on January 3, 2000. The National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters’ Broadcasting Hall of Fame inducted new members in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Golic, a television celebrity and co-host of Greenberg, has declared his departure from the program.

An ESPN memo from Barrett Sports Media that Golic Jr. was no longer on the network’s daily radio roster surfaced the information. Instead, he shared hosting duties with Chris Canty for a drive-in show.

The statement reads: “We would like to inform you that effective Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Mike Golic, Jr. will no longer be a member of the ESPN Radio Network program.”

“From 3-7 p.m. ET during this time, Chris Canty and a group of co-hosts will debut ESPN Radio Afternoons. We will soon post information regarding our schedule for this period.

Golic Jr. “decided to leave” despite receiving a contract offer from the network, according to the Post story.

He joined ESPN Radio in 2015 and has since worked actively with his father on Mike & Mike and later Golic and Wingo. Mike Golic Sr. left ESPN in the summer of 2020 after 20 years on the job.

Golic Jr. has also worked as an analyst on various ESPN shows, called college football and lacrosse, and played a key role in the network’s efforts on social media platforms like Snapchat.

He began co-hosting a show on ESPN Radio Daily in August 2020 alongside WNBA player Chiney Ogwumike.

How did Mike Greenberg get away with it?

By 2022, Mike Greenberg will still host the ESPN show. He also made a return to ESPN Radio with a brand new show called Greeny.

On November 17, 2017, co-host Mike & Mike announced her retirement. On Nov. 27, ESPN’s NFL Live and SportsCenter host Trey Wingo took over as Golic’s co-host.

They co-hosted Golic and Wingo, the successor show to Mike & Mike, from 2017 to 2020.

Alongside his work as a host, he is a fantasy novelist and still writes today.

In order to promote the book, the two Mikes also launched a 15-city book tour, stopping in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Dallas, Boston and Tampa. Greenberg published the book All You Could Ask For in 2013.
