Randy Savage put his tough guy qualities to good use when he graced Mike Judge’s King of the Hill. In the Season 11 episode “Bill, Bulk and the Bodybuilders,” Bill (Stephen Root) teams up with a group of terribly aggressive bodybuilders to prepare for an army physical. Unfortunately, the bad attitude of the muscular men takes a toll on Bill as his new physique turns him into a selfish jerk.
Savage’s character, Gorilla, is one of the bodybuilders who helps Bill become a torn-up wrecking machine. The character is not as flamboyant as Savage’s wrestler, but he does boast some similar fashion trademarks, including a goatee and a colorful bandana.
Like Savage during interviews on WWE and WCW television in his day, Gorilla also has a knack for delivering catchy catchphrases. In one scene, he urges Bill to get past his pain threshold, yelling, “No agony, no bragging.” One can only assume that Savage was allowed to come up with his own dialogue for the show, as the line wouldn’t sound out of place in one of his infamous wrestling commercials.
