The growing objections have been officially addressed by Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, the company that has been at the center of controversy since it introduced NewJeans. With their fan song, Cookie, in particular, the CEO was accused of oversexualizing the rookie group.
When discussing Cookie, Min Hee-jin revealed that his only inspiration was the simple idea of baking cookies. She also shared her thoughts on the slang term “cookie.”
The phrase was first used as slang in the 1970s and 1980s and is still widely used in the United States to mean “to decorate brilliantly”. It also has significant cultural significance. This CD has been created with the same care and attention as a delicate cookie.
The ADOR CEO also opened up about how her disputed Instagram account was “chewed up” by users online. She has come under fire for allegedly exhibiting paintings of underage girls in their underwear in her studio. She has been accused of glorifying p*dophilia by internet users.
Min Hee-jin, CEO Of ADOR And NewJeans, Finally Discusses The Infamous Accusations Against Her
In an interview with JoongAng Ilbo on August 10, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin talked about his newly debuted girl group NewJeans and the storm that hit them. She previously served as Creative Director and Chairman of the Board of SM Entertainment. She worked for the company for 16 years before quitting due to exhaustion.
Today, Min Hee-jin is both CEO of HYBE and marketing director of its subsidiary ADOR. Even though his new group made a lot of noise in 2019, this year saw his popularity increase considerably.
The CEO has been accused of oversexualizing and debuting with the majority of women under 18, assigning them inappropriate songs and keeping images of teenage girls in diapers in her studio. His Instagram has become a hot topic of discussion in many South Korean internet forums and in discussions around the world about how he glamorized young women. Fans called for serious action against the CEO.
Min Hee-jin discussed the complaints and said she wasn’t going to respond at first because they were “absurd”.
“A while ago there were rumors that my personal Instagram posts were ‘chewed up’. I was told by friends and businesses that the issue was ridiculous and not worth dealing with. However, the more I thought about it, the less sense it made for me to ignore it.
But ADOR’s CEO quickly came to the conclusion that a resounding response was needed to the growing unfavorable online conversations. At that point, she and the company began to file lawsuits.
“The amount of profanity, distribution and circulation of false material was found to be substantial and should not be ignored, which is why we have filed civil and criminal lawsuits, according to the company and numerous prospects. There was lots of illegal things found throughout the legal review.
Min Hee-jin denied Instagram posts that allegedly referenced offensive films showing a romantic/sexual relationship between an adult and a teenage girl and said:
The photos were just a gift from a friend.
She went on to say that she had received the aforementioned gift in the past.
Lately, especially after the rookie girl group started setting records, discussions of Min Hee-jin and NewJeans’ debut have been dominating K-pop stan Twitter. Two days ago, on August 9, 2022, NewJeans surpassed the mark for the biggest first-day album sales of any K-pop girl group in Hanteo history.
