The choice is definitely not as easy as Mike Wolf shows in American Pickers. In the series, we see all the action it takes to get a great item, but we don’t see too much of what it takes to get to those moments. It’s not just digging through piles of old junk in someone’s attic or rotting barn. To find something special, you need to get up at four in the morning, drive across the country and repeat this whole process day after day, collecting enough antiques to keep the store running.
It’s easy to imagine Mike as the most energetic of the Wolfe brothers since he started American Pickers in 2010. However, to hear him say it, Mike finds it hard to keep up with his little brother Robbie. “He always bores me,” Wolfe said in an interview. Vegas Film Criticadding, “He’s always at his peak, or he’s at a football match, or he runs another business that he has… he has a lot more energy than me.”
Robbie has brought his energy to the show many times before, but now, as co-host, he has the opportunity to amplify everything American Gatherers does, and he doesn’t seem to waste any time.
