The Apple Original Movie Luck, which is currently in limited theatrical release alongside a wide release on Apple TV+, has not been a critical success. On the rotten tomatoes, with a critical approval rating of 47%, and our own critic Alistair Ryder was among those unimpressed by the film. Calling out the film’s weak animation, boring voice acting, and poor script, Ryder added, “It doesn’t take long to figure out why John Lasseter reportedly fell asleep after the script was read to him.”

However, animation lovers and their families around the world seem to strongly disagree with the critics. Rotten Tomatoes has a 71% audience rating at the time of publication, with over 100 fans appreciating it. “This movie was amazing! cover of my favorite Madonna song” Reese R said. Although some viewers were as critical as the film’s reviewers, overall they seem to be much more supportive of the film.

Fortune, the first major film released under Skydance Animation’s Lasseter regime, focuses on the fatally unlucky Sam Greenfield (Eve Noblezada) who embarks on a journey to Fortune Land to change her unfortunate fate forever. With the help of a talking black cat named Bob (Simon Pegg), Sam must work towards her happy ending, but what she thinks she wants may not be what she needs.
