After WarnerMedia and Discovery merged, the company (now Warner Bros. Discovery) cut content by $825 milliona strategy that led to the heartbreaking cancellations of Batgirl and Scooby!: Holiday Sanctuary, both of which were already in post-production.
However, despite the sudden cancellation of the animated film, Scoob!: Holiday Haunt writer/producer Tony Cervone recently revealed that the team is still working on it, sharing a photo on Instagram showing a room full of musicians, accompanied by the caption: “So what do you do when a movie is canceled but you’ve already paid for the stage and the musicians? You’re making fucking music!”
The fact that the team is still recording music is certainly surprising given the extremely public and downright shocking cancellation of the film. Access to news on Instagramconfirmed Cervone: “The film is almost finished and turned out great. I am immensely heartbroken.”
Either way, both Chervone’s posts seem to imply that he was completely overwhelmed by the decision to cross out Scooby!: Holiday Hideout – though it’s still nice to know that he cared enough about the movie being completed, even if no one ever did. I’ll see the finished product someday.
