In an interview with Entertainment Weekly joined by his co-star Hannah Waddingham, Goldstein revealed that one unique fan encounter he had was when a “Ted Lasso” fan asked him for drugs. Well, “unique” might not be quite the right word, as the actor admitted that this isn’t the first time he’s been approached for banned substances. “Before I was recognized as Roy Kent, I was always asked about drugs because I look like I’m the guy you go to for drugs.” Now, however, as the world-famous star of a beloved sitcom, such conversations will occur wherever Goldstein goes.

“We were in another country and I was with Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie, and this American with his girlfriend came up to me and said, “Hey dude, do you know where I can get drugs?” Before he could do it. However, the stranger took another look at one of the MVP “Ted Lasso” and saw that he was strikingly similar to him. “And then he stopped and said, ‘Dude, you look like Roy Kent. In any case, where can I get drugs?” [Laughs] Then he walked past Phil and said, “You look like Jamie Tartt!” He then went back to his girlfriend and said, “Those two drug dealers look like Roy and Jamie.” It was my favorite.”
