Actress Jodi Balfour was born on October 24, 1987 and grew up in South Africa. She received accolades for her roles as Ellen Waverly Wilson in the Apple TV+ sci-fi drama For All Mankind and Gladys Witham in the Canadian TV drama Bomb Girls.
The 35-year-old was born and raised in Cape Town, where she also attended school before entering the Miss South Africa 2008 pageant. She graduated in 2009 and has appeared in a number of films and shows. TV shows filmed in Canada and the UK.
After her role in Bomb Girls in 2013, she shot to fame and received a Canadian Screen Award at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2015. For her work in the TV movie Bomb Girls: Face the Enemy, she received the award.
In the Cinemax neo-noir crime thriller Quarry, which aired for a single season in 2016 before being canceled the following year, Balfour played a significant role. She then made an appearance on the episode For All Mankind of the Apple TV+ show, which received strong reviews and just got a fourth season renewal. Later, Balfour posted a photo of herself and Jacobson sharing a kiss and called the connection the “biggest surprise” of her life.
In 2018, Jacobson came out bi** and admitted that she dates both men and women. She also said that her ideal partner should be witty and passionate about their work.
At the end of Pride month in June of the previous year, Balfour came out and said she was ready to embrace and explore her homosexuality.
