With her lime green minidress, the “Levitating” star hosted an event for Spotify in 90-degree conditions Tuesday night. According to the New York Post, the show was the night’s main attraction, with many being turned away at the door well before the music began.
A half-hour after midnight, Dua and her 10 dancers took the stage, and they sang “Don’t Start Now” and their Elton John duet “Cold Heart,” according to the Post. When she performed “Levitating” on Instagram, she released a video of herself doing so.
During her barnstorming performance, Grammy winner Dua wore a green minidress, and Sir Elton John appeared on screen as she sang their live collaboration, “Cold Heart,” which has over 74 million monthly Spotify listeners.
DJ Kaytranada, a Canadian, opened the night with a great set that included hits including “Meditation,” “At All,” and “Leave Me Alone.”
Post Malone, who is slated to host his own Spotify party on Wednesday, was one of the attendees. The “Circles” artist showed off his cowboy boots and jeweled grill in a series of photos that Dua shared with her fans. On Instagram, Walsh shared more footage of Dua’s performance. The next time Dua performs live will be on Thursday in Helsinki, Finland.
There is a new “House DJ” in town this week: the co-host of the Spotify Original Who We Be podcast.
For Post Malone, it’s been an exhilarating period. Earlier this week, he added two new tunes to his recently released fourth album, Twelve Carat Toothache.
It was released on June 3 and comes three years after the critically praised Hollywood’s Bleeding. The album finishes with “Waiting For Never” and “Hateful.”
