An upcoming film directed by David Cronenberg is yet to appear on screens in the Cinema houses, he is already looking forward to his next movies. According to the available reports, his latest project The Shrouds is yet in the works.
David Cronenberg Expresses His Desire Reunite Twilight Stars Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson In New Film
The Canadian Director is all set to write and direct the film which will star Vincent Cassel in the lead role where he will play the character of a well-known innovative businessman and grieving widower, who will build a device to connect with the dead people who are buried in the shrouds.
Speaking on this future project he expressed his desire to work with Kristen Steward and Robert Pattinson.
He said that “It was Robert who introduced me to Kristen. They have developed beautifully, separately, as actors. Making art-house movies and successfully carrying that off.” He further said that. “For me, yeah, I can think of a movie or idea that would be great to have them both together.”
The futuristic director also wanted to repeat his statement that his schedule for the upcoming project is already full for now. Cronenberg said, “I don’t want to get into it because it wouldn’t be my next movie, however, it might be problematic since fans might expect a certain kind of relationship and that would get in the way of creating new characters for them.”
The Canadian Director is well known for his signature body horror and excessive gore. One thing is sure the film involving Kristen Steward and Robert Pattinson won’t be a love story. Stewart and Pattinson won’t be pairing up with Cronenberg for the first time.
They have previously worked with him in the 2012 film Cosmopolis which was written and directed by David Cronenberg.
Pattinson recently appeared in the Netflix movie “The King” and another film by Robert Eggers “The Lighthouse” On the other hand Kristen Steward appeared as Princess Diana in the recent 2021 movie “Spencer” which received a very favorable review from the critics as well as the audience.
David Cronenberg’s Personal Life And Career
David Cronenberg was born in the year 1943 in Toronto. The Canadian National is a Film Director, screenwriter, and actor. He is also known as the principal originator of the concept of the Body horror genre in the film industry. His films revolve around visceral bodily transformation, infection, technology, etc.
He is best known for his science fiction movies like Shivers which was released in 1975), Scanners released in 1981, Videodrome released in 1983, and The Fly released in 1986.
Cronenberg married his first wife Margaret Hindson in the year 1972 and later divorced in the year 1979 on the grounds of career and professional differences. They had one daughter together. David later married his second wife Carolyn Zeifman who was a film editor and remained his wife until she died in 2014.
