A Little About Me...
In October of 1997, five friends joined hand and heart to breathe life into a newborn entity of melody and emotion. The musical creation was dubbed musica silentis doloris (roughly translated from Latin, music for the silent suffering) , and became the embodiment of their combined passion and inspiration. With haunting melodies, heartfelt aggression, and their powerful stage performance, MSD rapidly obtained one of Kentucky's largest and most devoted followings which would continue to expand each time they claimed the stage. The name of MSD spread like fire as they stole every opportunity to gain experience and recognition. In 1999, they won the Bellarmine College Battle of The Bands, and a string of hit songs placed the band in the position of most requested unsigned band on Louisville Kentucky's largest rock station, WTFX 100.5, and remained #1 for a record shattering three solid years. Early 2002, MSD was titled "The most requested unsigned band in Louisville history" on the station's weekly local music show, a title which they continue to hold to this day. MSD has shared the stage with established rock and metal acts such as 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach, Shadows Fall, Drowning Pool, The Misfits, Cold, Gwar, Chimaira, Ill Nino, and many others. Summer of 2002, the group was appointed a spot on the second stage at the first Summer Sanitarium Tour with Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, System of a Down and Powerman 5000. The music sings deeply of beauty, horror, life, death and overcoming the trials of existence through self empowerment. Compelling lyrics create powerful, cryptic imagery with poetic depth, while guitars ring with melodies that balance between tranquility and ferocity. Unafraid of change, MSD is in constant exploration and experimentation of the artistic outlet, testing every end of the musical spectrum. Today, MSD remains a brotherhood of artistry, unbreakable, unwavering, and pushing ever forward in an endless endeavor to share their opus with the world
