I love to go to Phoenix Hill when they have events there, so that the normal crowd isn't there. It's such a unique building that you can't help but kind of like it; maybe a great place to take an out-of-town guest, but it's not somewhere I would want to go just to hang out.
I like Willy's. It's very clean and has a great selection of beer. The decor is pretty neat, as well, although sitting on a giant rock indoors isn't that comfortable. Would be nice to come in the front entrance, though.
I love cafe mimosa. The food here is excellent and its right in the Highlands, the best place in town, of course. The sushi is good, but not the best in town. I'd recommend sticking with the food on the regular menu.
This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I've traveled to Mexico and haven't found a fajita nearly as good. Beef fajitas, baby!!! I've seen other people order other things, and they also looked good. I've been going there since I was 15 years old.
I love the pizza, it has so much cheese on it, yummy. However, the staff there is terrible. Slow, slow, slow service every single time that I've been in there. When you got 2 hungry kids, you don't want to wait 45 minutes to get your pizza. I've also ordered it delivered to my house and both times, the pizza was cold.
Even if you aren't a big gambler, it's fun to watch the horses race. Good atmosphere full of excitement and the indoor betting area, for the colder months, is a really nice option they just added.
As a local attraction, KY Kingdom, is small, but an entertaining place to go. My kids love it! It's a good place to go without being a "huge ordeal" as other theme parks are, because you can basically go through the entire park in just 3-4 hours (including riding the rides). The Waterpark is our favorite place during the summer heat as it has many different attractions: wave pool, slides, 2 kids areas, lazy river, and a "water roller coaster". Also its a safer option for teenagers looking to hang out at night during the summer months. Great for all ages.
If you live in Southern Indiana, you might like this place. From Louisville, it is too long of a haul and seems to exist in the middle of nowhere. The clientèle is not really my type of crowd. I wouldn't go back there unless you paid me.
