sonaBLAST! Records was founded in the summer of 2002 in New York City, NY by indie film producer Gill Holland. He realized that when there are five multi-national music conglomerates controlling 97 percent of the world's record sales, it is high time for people to step up and champion great indie music.
Matt Parker soon became a partner, and as the company grew, a need for a management side developed. sonaBLAST! Records became sonaBLAST! Records and Management, and the label moved with its founder to Louisville, KY, with Matt running the NYC office .
As sonaBLAST! grows, we will continue to develop "great independent music for music dependent people".
