Down home food all-you-care-to eat buffet. Lots of country favorites always on hand. Reasonably priced at around $9 per person. The decor is plain, but the place is well maintained and clean. Excellent food.

Have been there many times. They do need to redo there seating, the seats are horrible to sit in, you just about fall to the floor when you go to sit down in a booth. Just needs some TLC. If you like country home cooking great food!

I know this establishment is not really in Louisville. If fact, it takes at least 45 minutes to get there from our fair city. However, if you're up for a little road trip or you have business out that way, you have to stop and eat at The Stephen Foster. If heaven has a country cookin' buffet, it will be like that one. The main dishes change from day to day, but there are some staples that you'll find there just about anytime. Fried chicken and fish are always offered, as are mashed potatos and green beans. The day we ate there recently, there were sweet and tangy stewed tomatoes that melted in my mouth, those velvety mashed potatoes of course, and the best greens I have ever put in my mouth. They were seasoned with a perfect blend of vinager and thick chunks of tender ham. My companion started her meal with a bowl of beans and some sweet cornbread. This is truly down home food at it's finest. It truly took me back to my childhood and my Aunt Lil's table in Horse Cave, Ky. Desert was chocolate pie that my companion commented tasted exactly like her mother's home-made. I don't know when I've had a finer meal.
