Dignity has a price. --Part 3
*Note:
The BLC Home for Misguided Dipshits reserves the right to change anything it feels necessary at it's discretion. While this may sound unfair, our panel of distinguished board members takes the utmost pride in our ability to fairly delegate responsibilities and any necessary punishments. Although Mr. Chank may have th ... more

dandelion
I mowed my lawn for the first time this year. I hate this ritual but must keep up with the neighbors. lol As I mowed I thought of the wildflowers I was chopping down. There were dandelions, violets, and some small blue flowers. I don't know what they are. My lawn is quite the canvas. The dandelions looked like small drops o ... more

Will it NEVER end?
If only I were getting paid for this comedy I call life. . . .
It only took 6 tries for BEST BUY to finally get my washer and dryer here. The 5th time was Sunday a.m. (the first time they showed up), and my new alarm was set incorrectly. AND. . .the doorbell doesn't work, so it is up to Guin to let me know when someone i ... more

Home Improvement...lessons learned
I've learned much in the course of reconstructing my house...an ongoing process. I wouldn't know where to begin to cover it all, so I'll stick to a few things I don't like.
In the kitchen...I don't like the way the doors work on the pantry. It has double doors and you have to open the right before the left. For me, this ... more

Moving STINKS!
Just moved from my dream house into a smaller one for the guys and me. This was so that we could continue our standard of living and still be fairly close to where we had been living.
I'm currently sleeping on the floor on a Futon mattress and the guys are in sleeping bags. Found beds on Craigslist, and am supposed to pi ... more

Spring Cleaning
Today I found out that you can fit an amazing amount of stuff in a Hefty force flex trash bag. It's time to spring clean and now there's a Goodwill pile in my living room that I think will require two trips. It sure feels good to get the clutter out! ... more

Not about writing at all...
I've been quite busy in the "real" section of my life lately. We've been trying to do some work around the house, picking up, organizing, repairing dripping faucets and toilets (and the previous owner's decision to glue the flush valve into the toilet tank means instead of a $10, 15 minute repair job we spent four hours try ... more

Home, Garden & Remodeling Show...this weekend!!!
Every time I see this advertised on TV today, I can't help but think the people sponsoring this are looking outside cussing.
How much money is invested in the exhibits? How many people feel such a necessity to go, to dig themselves out? I'm doubting they'll be seeing big crowds. But then, what do I know? ... more

Trying to "kill" 2 "birds" w/one "stone"
Last night, while preparing supper, I picked up a bag of potatoes to season and steam. Opening them, I laughed so hard, I snorted. Not only were the potatoes shriveled and dry, they had roots (the things that grow from the "eyes") It cracked me up. Some looked like chia pets, some like they were covered in moss, and sti ... more
