What is it about VD that makes people go crazy? I'm not talking about STD's like Syphilis that make you go crazy, I'm talking about Valentines Day. The fanatics go all out…They spend too much on Candy, Flowers, Lingerie, and Romantic Getaways. Then there are thousands of engagements and even weddings all on this one day. But Why? Why not use a regular day to surprise you sweetie with what is marketed to you on this one day? Why only show the appreciation one day out of the year? Many women spend money on super sexy lingerie for this day but why not make that a regular habit? Guys why only use this one day to buy your ladies flowers? Keep the romance alive every month and not just one day a year! Sex is hotter if your lover feels you want them year round. I'm not against Valentine's Day but it just doesn't hold the 'pizzazz' it once did. My ex husband and I were actually featured in the Courier Journal a few years back for the Valentines issue. We were the “Louisville Love Bugs” in an article that talked about old fashioned dating (set ups and blind dates) before the internet. Of course I never figured we'd be divorced 5 years later but hey, shit happens. Do I miss knowing I always have a Valentine? Not really. It's just another day. On the other end of the spectrum are the ones that freak out because they don't have a Valentine. They go into a deep depression and boo hoo about not having anyone to love them. Do you forget about your friends and your family because you don't have someone to take you to dinner one day a year? Please! Just because you're alone on Valentines is not the end of the world. Then there are the ones that RUN. I know of three guys who decided NOW is the time to dump everyone they've been talking to, avoid girls that have feelings for them, clear their phone lists, delete their posse's and even start brand new accounts or delete them because they're “Sick of the games” and want a fresh start. What my girlfriends and I have concluded is they don't want the pressure of having to date because if they are with someone on THIS day it means something. It can be a special day if you want it to be. It is a reminder to tell the ones you are with that you care and appreciate them. It doesn't mean they expect a proposal or think it means 'FOREVER' It's not going to make or break your relationship. Just go with it and enjoy the romanticism. And for those of you without a Valentine, just remember “It's better to be alone than to be with someone and be lonely.” Besides having sex with yourself means you are always satisified LOL.

You know out of the 4 yrs I've been single I've been in a relationship 2 of those years around valentiens day and the guys have freaked out and disapeared on both, just desided there not ready for a realtionship any more, than guess what a few weeks after there back. whats the big deal I just don't know. Anyone who knows me know's Im not a high maintance woman and know I don't expect anything from them so why run? Thats probably something we will never know.. I'm with you I think we should show our partner our love all the time not just on one day a year.

It doesn't have ot be one sided but i think women just don't know what to do for men that is romantic and not 'gay'
