Big News! It looks like it's actually going to snow 2-4 inches by morning.
Now, that'll make for a good weekend of TV watching, and of course there's the big game on Sunday. So the promo dept. over at WLKY put the two concepts of football and weather coverage together in the spot featured below.
No one could be happier with the forecast than the CBS affiliate.
On the other hand, I couldn't help but notice the incredibly poor taste exhibited by some headline writer over there. On its website, WLKY's lead story at 2:30 featured this headline:
"Park Where Girl's Feet Severed Shutting Down"
Seriously. Then in the story, with no byline, reports the real news about the shutdown of the park, then inserts a graph under the sub-head: "No Lasitter Connection." Kaitlyn Lasitter was the 13-year-old girl involved in the 2007 accident at the park.
The WLKY Super Bowl spot isn't what you would typically see a television station air to promote their news. Kudos to WLKY's production team for creating something a little different for Super Bowl viewers.
