Film Guy at LouisvilleMojo here with the rundown for this January 29-31 weekend should you choose to hang out at Stonybrook, Baxter, Village 8, Tinseltown, or any others.
This Weekend:
“Edge of Darkness” – Mel Gibson is a cop whose daughter's death is cover-up by the government. He teams with a hit man (Ray Winstone) and sets out to avenge her death.
“When in Rome” – Kristen Bell is disillusioned with romance. While on a trip to Rome she plucks a coin from a fountain, suddenly bringing her suitors. But whose love is for real?
For Your Indie/Art-house Consideration:
“Crazy Heart” – Jeff Bridges is a country singer who has lived more than the song. When a journalist (Maggie Gyllenhaal) interviews him, he opens up to her in hopes for redemption.
The Rundown: “Edge of Darkness” was okay (review HERE). “When in Rome” had some funny moments (review FORTHCOMING).
Call me crazy, but the “Dude” may have the best movie to watch this weekend. “Crazy Heart,” which had a limited release, has been picking up speed and I really like the trailer for it.
