So folks, Steve Jobs and Apple have finally unveiled their "newest creation".... the iPad. It's a tablet made by apple, specifically designed for those who just can't get enough of apple's slimline products. The 9.7 inch screen, a half-inch thick, weight a pound and a half; and supposedly has a 10-hour battery life with a month of standby time. It can utilize WiFi and 3G (through AT&T), available in 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB flash storage versions and... it's essentially $499 to $899 (add 3G for another benjamin plus a monthly fee).
So why DON'T I want it? Well let's see... it's a fatties' iPhone/iPod Touch. Think about it.
It's bigger, it looks like an iPod touch, it uses 3G provided by AT&T, it has the same damn iPod/iPhone OS and plays the iPhone's games. Oh, it has a bookstore for iTunes and basically connects like an iPhone/iPod... great, this is how we tell Japan we're STILL under them. I want a device that I don't have to sync to my freakin' computer every time I want something new or downloaded through the iTunes store. I would much rather have a tablet that I can browse the net with Flash (no this thing still doesn't have Flash support) and more customization outside of apps, hardware form and ONE BACKGROUND. I could probably find a comparable tablet PC for a little bit over $1K or a netbook with infinitely better specs for around $350.
And what's with that name? The iPad? PLEASE. iSlate would have been better sounding; but iPad?
Personally, I'm waiting on the iEye. I'm not a pirate by preference, but i'd be on bored with that rather than this iMistep.
Come on artbyalida this is not a phone this is a computer thats spose to replace laptops.. Its not spose to look like a Iphone..... Hello are you suppose to put up to ur ear and say hello! Like a phone from the 80's use to look like...
