Somebody on Denmark Street is flirting with disaster by shining a high-intensity laser at aircraft.
The light affected pilots for both WHAS-TV and WLKY-TV this morning. Bill DeReamer, the veteran WLKY chopper pilot, said this:
"The crew in the other aircraft is at an ophthalmologist's office right now complaining of blurred vision and headaches and it can damage your vision permanently," he said. "Also, just as the situation this morning, there were two of us in close proximity to each other and if they had lost their vision, we could have had a mid-air collision."
The choppers were flying above Papa John's Cardinal Stadium shooting footage of the lines for H1N1 flu vaccines.
Metro Police, the FAA and the FBI are investigating. If they find the person pointing the laser, charges could include reckless endangerment.
I used to live on denmark and I really don't think any of those hood rats is capable of even aiming a lazer right.
I think this story is bullshit. it was probably some sort of sun rays that hit the window wrong.
This is a short article about the crime and associated penalty of pointing lasers at aircraft. It's a federal crime with 5 years prison time.

Yeap that Hood Rat has to be pretty stupid to not know them cameras can zoom in on the zits upon his forehead!
Then again, its pretty poor Risk Assessment on part of them News Station to risk the life of thousands if something bad had happened. The lawsuits would have been flying all over the place!
