It happened on Halloween, and word's been leaking out about the show, but now there's video of Monsters of Folk in full KISS get-up covering the band's "Detroit Rock City."

Featuring Louisville's own Jim James of My Morning Jacket Fame as Gene Simmons and Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst as Paul Stanley (Monsters of Folk also includes Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and M. Ward, who along with Zooey Deschanel makes up She & Him) the gang rocked out as the monsters of KISS and fortunately there's YouTube evidence to show for it.

The band's show - and get-ups - earned mentions on Pitchfork.com and in The Courier-Journal.

KISS lives on, apparently.

This is the next step in developing our own brand of citizen journalism.
I'm here to report on what I see going on in Louisville, to look for stories wherever and whatever they are, and to get you to help me. If you know of something going on that's good, or something that's going on that shouldn't be, let me know. We want to shout it from the rooftops, or - even better - help you to do it.
