You may be saying to yourself that the new reporter on WHAS-TV looks familiar. That's because she is.
Stephanie Collins spent eight years at WHAS-TV, and another seven years at Fox 41, as a general assignment reporter. She's been hired on a temporary basis for a month starting Monday.
"I'm returning to my alma mater, and it's really a homecoming," said Collins, who lives in Anchorage with her husband, former TV reporter Jeff Lifson. He is now an executive in the horse industry.
Collins, who has two children, told me she'd just decided to go back to work when the opportunity at WHAS came along. She's on board through the November sweeps.
Collins said she left Fox41 in 2006 to work in the horseracing industry, where she produced documentaries for Keeneland.
"I'm just so excited about helping out and being back in the community. It's a really exciting challenge," she said.
