Jeni, Jeni Turns to You: This is Jeni Carr, a local singer who wants your vote in a CMT contest. If she wins, (and she's in the final 64 from 2,000 entries) she gets to tour with Reba and cut a session at Studio 330, a big deal in country music circles. The video here was recorded at a backyard party. And she plays every Thursday at Rubbie's in the South End, in my old neighborhood. So vote for her.

Felner Trial Date Set: Former U of L Education dean Robert Felner will stand trial in Louisville Feb. 1, facing mail fraud, money-laundering conspiracy and income tax evasion charges. Bad guy.

Speaking of Bad Guys: Gilles Meloche isn't getting a bad rap just because he's accused of sexually harassing staff members. He's got other problems, which former staffer Dr. Kendall Clay will expose tonight in another exclusive from WLKY's Andy Alcock. Watch it at 6.

Big Ole Nulu Development: It looks like Creation Gardens is attempting to buy a big chunk of land on the north side of East Market Street, across from The Green Building, to build a 28,000-SF HQ, wholesale center and retail store, and it could be part of a bigger development that would alter the look of the entire district. Good news.
