WHAS-TV sports guy Kyle Draper has landed a job in Boston, working for Comcast. His last day at the station is Nov. 27.
Draper's built a reputation as a real pro at WHAS-TV, tackling some tough stories and asking tough questions when necessary. I recently had the opportunity to play (well, Draper played while I ran up and down the court) in a charity basketball game, and he's a great guy and a solid reporter. He'll be missed in Louisville.
Draper is married to the Courier-Journal's Maisy Fernandez, and they have a baby boy born in July.
Here's the note sent around today by WHAS GM Mark Pimentel:
Kyle Draper has accepted a job in Boston with Comcast Sports net where he will be able to cover the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics , Bruins etc.
For a die-heart sports guy like Kyle this is a dream job and we understand his excitement about the job (but he is from Philly so he might be headed for fan counseling).
Kyle has done a great job during his 6 year career at WHAS covering the Cards and Cats, and getting educated about the horse industry.
Kyle's last day will be November 27th. I hope you will join me in wishing one of the good guys well in his next venture.
