What in hell have I done? I have apparently agreed to begin training for the Triple Crown and mini-marathon with a group of co-workers. What was I thinking? I don't run. I don't even walk fast most of the time. The only time I've run anywhere in the last five years is to get to the fridge and back during a commercial break. No, I'm wrong. I did play kickball two years ago and I think I actually ran from home to first maybe twice that season. Woo-hoo. I didn't just agree to run either. I agreed to run in the rain, sleet, cold, and snow. And I was sober when I did this. Sounded like a good idea at the time. Geezo-pete, No way to get out of it now. Caught me at a weak moment when I was doing the whole “I need to lose a few pounds,, I need to build up some stamina and strength.” thing. Both are true. I got lazy over the past few years going through all the cancer stuff but now that I am free and clear, I have no excuse. So pray for me and, if you aren't a praying person, send up a few good karmic waves and wishes for me. I'm gonna need them. Anybody have suggestions for good running shoes and moisture-wicking wear?
