The self avowed communist and conspiracy theorist documentary film maker Michael Moore's new film Capitalism- A Love Story recently debuted in theaters across America this week. I was surprised to see that it had risen to the top of the charts in such a short period of time. I haven't seen it, nor do I plan to. I already know who he is and where the direction of the film would go. I've seen some trailers to it too.
It's quite ironic that he has been able to capitalize (that is to produce something that others would exchange their capital for resulting in a profit for himself) on bashing Capitalism. I actually feel sorry for the poor souls who wasted their hard earned money and time to go watch this movie. Shame on Moore for taking advantage of poor ignorant Americans while he sits back raking in millions and is fat and happy. Only in America can you be a successful Capitalist while at the same time bashing the very system that has risen your living standards more than any nation in the world. Apparently the movie ends with a clip of FDR (the most socialist president since Obama) laying out plans for an "economic bill of rights", I guess he had planned on eliminating private property rights which are real economic rights.
It saddens me to see so many positive reviews for this movie while the one movie that exposed the real problem that America is facing IOUSA that came out last August received very little. I think Moore and his poor followers need a little lesson in Austrian Economics and world history. Nothing good ever came out of Socialism, Fascism (what Moore really depicts in his film) and Communism. That has been well documented in world history, just ask a Russian, North Korean, North Vietnamese, Cuban, or German who was alive in the mid 20th century.
Where did Michael Moore call himself a communist? Are you just making that up?
I haven't seen the movie, and I'm not sure if I'm going to, but your judgment doesn't have any merit because you haven't seen it either.
I love capitalism, it's been pretty good to me so far. At the same time, I'm terribly cognizant that influence peddling, lobbying and the lack of accountability and checks and balances (on greed and power) have bent our system pretty badly.
Capitalism is great, but denying that it has problems, or blindly bashing anyone who might try to point out those problems ... come on.
There's a video of him on youtube where he praises Communism. I think it was right after the stock market crash. Plus his retoric is always anti Capitalist and pro Government intervention.
Capitalism isn't perfect but we're not living under Capitalism....we haven't for a long time. A true Capitalist system wouldn't allow a central bank to counterfeit money at a moments notice. A true capitalist system would have a governemnt that respected and protected private property rights instead of steal from one group and give to another. I define that as theft.
We currently live in a Fascist state where the government is in the pocket of big business and the Government has to rely on the Federal Reserve to counterfeit enough money to fund their social engeniering programs.
Maybe he should've named his movie "Fascism- a Love Story" and expose how Government intervention in the market and a fiat dollar standard are to blam for our misfortunes but I already know he doesn't because he's Michael Moore.
Greed isn't the problem. Greed by theft or fraud is a problem and we can only resolve that with a sound monetary system and limited Government that doesn't steal from one to give to another. Everyone has greed, or should I say that everyone pursues their own self interests. That's what's made America great- Freedom.
