Was it 'Where the Wild Things Are'? Or was it 'Treasure Island'? Maybe 'The White Mountains'?

What book got you hooked on reading?

First Book, an organization that works to provide new books to children, is sponsoring its annual "What Book Got You Hooked?" contest, and one lucky state will win 50,000 new books to help get kids hooked on reading.

Go to What Book Got You Hooked?, share which book got you hooked, and then vote for the state you think should get 50,000 books.

Kentucky won last year, so help the commonwealth defend its title and vote for the Bluegrass.

Almost 20 years after First Book's founding, it has provided more than 65 million books to children in need across the United States and Canada, according to the organization's website.

This is the next step in developing our own brand of citizen journalism.
I'm here to report on what I see going on in Louisville, to look for stories wherever and whatever they are, and to get you to help me. If you know of something going on that's good, or something that's going on that shouldn't be, let me know. We want to shout it from the rooftops, or - even better - help you to do it.
