Hey everybody. I wanted to put this out there to get some feedback. I went to school to learn how to build REAL log homes. I mean I cut trees down, peel the bark myself and turn these into a beautiful, never to be duplicated again log home. Would you as a buyer rather have that or a kit log house made out of 6 to 8 inch timbers? I have helped build on two of these now and after I build my own I am thinking of building them in the Louisville area. I'm talking around 1500 square ft., nothing extravagant but beautiful and comfortable. Kit homes of that size sell for 250k+ from all I have been able to find out. I plan to keep the price of mine under 200K.
