My friend Charlie amuses me so much. He certainly gives me different perspective on certain things. Yesterday, it was a view of South-West Louisville from my vantage point of the back glass of his car as we rolled down I64 toward Indiana. It is clear that we are yet again taking the long way to our designation. And my husband has let this happen. Oh well, I entertain myself looking at the houses as they rush by my eyes. I make wise cracks about the Louisville tour. The remarks bounce right off of Charlie. My sarcasm phases him none. That's one of the reasons we are friends. He gets me. He's nothing like me, but he understands me.
We go to West Baden and Jim buys us Ice Cream, and Charlie and I munch while we walk around admiring all there is to admire. And there is so much to admire.
After completing our business at West Baden, we went over to the casino where we enjoyed listening to the Clayton Anderson Band. The lead singer, Clayton?, I don't know, anyway, he called out his grandmother from the microphone. He said she wouldn't come see him in a tavern, but she didn't consider a casino a tavern. ..lol. Everyone applauded and cheered her.
We tried to have dinner in French Lick, but it must be against the law to have the eateries open passed Ten.
Jim and I did get in on a photo session with a dozen people we didn't know. Charlie joined the photographer and snapped some shots.
A fun Saturday evening for sure!
Sounds like a nice drive to your destination. Charlie is good for an entertaining ride. A tip for future jaunts, make sure he has enough gas to get you back and forth.
