Suspended Moment
This is our moment
Just yours and mine
All the world is quite
And the clock has stopped time
Whether it is the first of many
Or just one of too few
It will be a beginning
Like no other you ever knew
I want to explore
Every inch of you
I want to know all that is good
And the bad too
I want to discover
All that you hide
Behind that smile
And those captivating eyes
So, what is it?
What keeps you from me?
I fear this thing that holds you
Won't set you free
I can't fight it
Not with ten thousand men
I have no defenses
For it is your best friend
Our moment has passed
For the sun is now in the sky
The candles have burned out
And the roses have died
I can't save you
You have to save yourself
And if you refuse to fight
I have no place in your life.
As tough as they are
These are your choices to make
All I can do is pray you choose
For your own sake.
