Last night we were pretty dead for the most part, with the exception of a party of 45 that came in around 8. Once we finished cooking all the food for that party, I started to get nervous.

I don't know why, but everytime I get a new tattoo I get nervous a few hours beforehand. I trust Don, but I still get almost kinda scared. Especially with this one. It's big. I also didn't know exactly what it was going to look like. I sent Don an image and told him the changes I'd like to make to the image, but I still wasn't sure exactly what I wanted.

My last tattoo was Chernabog and it hurt!! After getting that one, I definently believed that tattoos get more painful as you get older. After last night, I don't believe that to be entirely true. This one didn't really hurt all that much. I mean, it hurt when Don was tattoo'ing on my spine and when he was on my side, but that space in between... didn't really bother me at all. Also we tried a different position. We started with me on the chair in an upright position. I mentioned laying down and he said he would think that might hurt more. We tried it and it was actually way more comfortable. There were a couple times I almost fell asleep, but then get jabbed with a needle. One of two time I had to tell Don to stop for a second because I waslaughing so hard.

So, this tattoo is of the dancing brooms carrying the buckets from Fantasia. At one point while Don was tattoo'ing I heard him mumble, "Fuckin'buckets". That was just too funny. He said it was like there was 1000!!! So many buckets!!! I love that man!!

After we reached the 2 and a half hour mark we were done for the night. Since there was no way in Hell this tattoo could get done in one sitting, neither one of us was going to push it. Don's back was starting to hurt and the area he was tattoo'ing was starting to get really sore.

It barely has any color on it so far, just some blue for the water, but it looks awesome. The detail he has already put in on the brooms and the buckets is incredible. That man is such an amazing artist. Without a doubt. He never fails me. Like with this tattoo... I got this vision in my head that I just couldn't describe and it's like Don just read my mind and came up with exactly what I wanted.

Did I mention another reason that Don is so awesome is that he will do these tattoos for me at these weird times? Most of my friends know that I only get tattoos on certain dates... it's my thing. I went into his shop last night around 11, hung out and whatnot until midnight and that's when he started... officially Halloween. Fourth year in a row I've been tattoo'ed on Halloween.

Last night Gary met me up at Asgard and he said he had a surprise for me. I was really excited about that. I go downstairs to meet him and he pulls out a pumpkin he had carved for me. It was a perfect Mickey. Not just the silhouette of his head, but his face too. It was so awesome and brought tears to my eyes. I love that man so much!

Did I mention that life is good?

Went to the movies with one of my bestest buddies a little earlier today and going to a concert tonight. Kings Island in the morning, dinner at a friends afterwards. Movie at night with Gary.

Yes... Life is Good.

Why do people care so much about the personal lives of others? Do we read about each other to make ourselves feel worse, comparing our lives to others, realizing our life sucks? We're all just nosy, wanting to check up on our friends and enemies to make sure their night wasn't any better than ours. Then you gotta think... What's the point?
