There's this song that makes me want to dance. The intro comes on, a harmony of voices immediately appears, sticks around twice, then disappears, while a guitar is whispering its strums and starting the melody, a piano comes in and softly plays its tune, then disappears as well, the guitar picks up the melody again, a little more forceful this time, then the voice appears, soft, mellow, androgynous, harmonic in itself.
5 verses gives me plenty of time...
to move my body.
My shoes get kicked to the side. I don't want to dance in shoes, I want my bare feet on the hard wood. I want to glide across the floor, but able to grip it with my toes to kick my leg up in the air when I desire. Shoes off.
The voice penetrates my body, fills my chest and helps me breathe, runs through my arms, out to my hands, they weave their way through the air, then its back
to my and through my chest again.
Down to my hips, they sway, it moves
to my thighs, through my knees, down my calves, the arch of my feet. Feel it. My toes tighten and I'm off on the balls of my feet.
Dancing.
