I have always loved to travel. It started when my mom and I would take long "Sunday drives" when I was a kid. We would just hope in the car and go. All of my family is fair-skinned, so just sitting at the beach wasn't an option.
When my best friend suggested we take a trip to see another one of our greatest friends for the July 4th holiday, I said I was already packed. I only hesitated when I noticed there was going to be a slim chance that Jeff could join us because of his work schedule. But at the last minute (and that's no joke), his work gave him Thursday as his "holiday" and we were on our way. YIPPEE! YAHOO! YAY!
My parents would never let me sleep in the car during road trips or vacations. I hated as a kid. But now that I have a daughter, I understand why they did it. So I have look for games, music and stuff to occupy my time in the car. I took several of our board games and modified them for the small spaces and to include everyone (especially the driver)!
Road trips are great! It allows you the opportunity to be with your friends and experience life together. I love how my friends get along together. I learn everyone's personalities quirks that you just don't see at a party. We survived our most recent road trip - 4 1/2 days straight! We didn't fight with each other or cause such a ruckus to get arrested.
In fact, we decided that we all do get together so well together that we are going to make an annual beach trip every year! I am sure our group will grow to more then our original five... we have several friends just like us. Next year, Hilton Head or Kittyhawk. Are you ready? I am.
I can't wait!! Our times together just seem to flow like we were all meant to be together:) Love you guys and extra comment to Wendi's comment: We are soooooooo going hanggliding!!!! I also love that you guys can deal with me and Wendi LOL!
