Hello, everybody! Well, here's installment two of my New Orleans travel blog! What's the plan for New Year's Eve? The two big events in my agenda for New Year's Eve are the Black Label Cycle Club's tall bike joust and Mr. Quintron at the HiHo Lounge.
The Black Label Cycle Club are a group of bike enthusiasts gone array. The function today is the tall bike joust. Tall bikes are homemade bikes welded so the seat sits about 6 feet up in the air. Thus, the rider and petals are way up there to make for a more impressive fall to spectators. The joust is just what it sounds like. Two guys on tall bikes jousting with a padded stick and trying to knock the other rider off of the bike. Good times!!! Today's joust is located under the Claibourne Overpass and starts at 1 pm in New Orleans. If you're there, check it out!!!
Mr. Quintron is a guy who's been around for a little over ten years. His music is this crazy psychedelic lounge music that gets the party going! He throws the best parties and has puppet shows! No party is complete without a puppet show. His wife and partner is the brainchild behind that. They're awesome creative people! Check them out on myspace! He's performing tonight at the HIHO Lounge located on St. Claude Avenue just outside the French Quarter for New Year's Eve. It's always a super fun show with all the coolies and hipsters in NOLA! Be there or Be Square!! Mmmahh! Happy 2008!!
