G and I recently tried Carolyn's Restaurant and feel we have found one of Louisville's Best Values in homestyle American food. The atmosphere is older but clean and the menu is straightforward. They have daily breakfast, lunch and dinner specials with a wide variety of offerings. We both had a breakfast special for our first meal. My eggs were prepared exactly the way I wanted; the first restaurant to do so since I moved to Louisville over four years ago! G said his french toast he also ordered was of wonderful quality and had a great balance of flavors and textures. Bacon was crisp and biscuits were fresh. Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs throughout the meal. Carolyn's has been in business for about 4 years under current ownership, the prices are very low for the quality and value of the meals. They accept CASH ONLY!/NO CREDIT CARDS/NO CHECKS.
