Two book fairs (or faires) on the same day? Somebody might want to check their calendar next year.
The 200-writer strong guest list at this year's Kentucky Book Fair will feature Kentucky writers like Phyllis George, Silas House, Bobbie Ann Mason and Louisville's own Tori Murden McClure.
The Kentucky Book Fair also features former U.S. Senator George McGovern, who mounted an unsuccessful campaign for president in 1972 and is the author of “Abraham Lincoln/The American Presidents Series: The 16th President, 1861-1865.”
(The KBF is at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.)
The almost Famous Authors Faire, on the other hand, features authors trying to get their feet in the door and to help them get their work in front of the readers. (Check out Sissy Marlyn's blog on the Faire.)
(The AFAF is at the Galt House Hotel, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.)
The Almost Famous Authors' Faire begin planning in Jan. We checked the schedule and the KBF was on the 14th of Nov. So we went with the 7th of Nov. Low and behold it was not a month later that the KBF suddenly changed their date! HUM a little competion? We look forward to see everyone at AFAF!
