The past couple days i have started to feel a little bit brighter...as in happier. I typically try to be a happy person negativity does not get you anywhere. However a very long time close friend lost his battle with cancer last Tuesday 3/9/10 at the young age of 52.
It was a long sad 2 year battle that we were blessed he got to share so much time with us. I know in my heart that he is better off not being in pain. I still feel so much anger at times for him leaving behind his wife who is a co mom to me and 12 year old son. His other children were in their 20's. I know it was not his fault and i try to lose that feeling. It just hurts.
I still cry I think it will take a very long time before that ends.
This event opened my eyes in so many ways. I remember thinking at the funeral home that all these people around me I love I will also have to watch leave me, because this is only the beginning. That is hard to take in.
I know David did leave a mark on the ones he left behind. He was the reason 3 people i know of stopped smoking including myself. He stayed strong to the very end. I still remember him shaking his finger at me to stop drinking hard liquor so much and smoking....I rarely drink these days and don't smoke either.
I love and will miss my friend dearly as many others. May god bless his family.
The other day, I needed to go to the emergency room.
Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my old Army fatigues and stuck a patch onto the front of my shirt that I had downloaded off the Internet.
When I went into the E.R., I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all. Cut at least 3 hours off my waiting time.
Here's the patch. Feel free to use it the next time you're in need of quicker emergency service.
Patch states " US BORDER PATROL"
It also works at DMV and the Laundromat.
Don't try it at McDonald's, the whole crew will exit and you'll never get your order.
