The Office for LGBT Services at UofL has recently started a support group for families that are headed by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender individuals. This group includes parents who have children from previous marriages and those who have become parents through adoption, surrogacy, etc. Our group is made up of couples and single parents. The purpose of this group is to help LGBT-headed families to network with other families in order to discuss issues, schedule play dates, and feel a sense of support. We will be scheduling family activities as well as having discussions about relevant issues facing our families. I am starting a healthy relationship group on January 4th for lesbien, gay, bi, trans, and even straight people are welcome to attend after several LGBT patients showed interest in the group.
