Description In any business with limited marketing and advertising funds getting the word out is always a significant hurdle, enter Business Briefs. Business Briefs offers free publicity to members of the Kentuckiana Rainbow Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Starbase Q and The Rainbow Reader. The event occurs on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Each month, there will be a featured speaker giving a 10 minute presentation about their business. Our October speaker will be Gerry Mattingly of Evolve Consignments.

About Gerry and Evolve Consignments:

After several years living in San Francisco and San Diego, Gerry made the decision to return home to Louisville and get started with chapter two of his life. He knew he wanted to build his own business; one that would allow him to achieve both his professional and personal goals while also being able to give back by providing corporate level support for the causes and organizations that were important to him. He wasn't sure what that was until the economy tanked in 2008.

In this economy, on this planet consignment is all about... recycling, saving money, making money and giving back. Evolve Consignments is on deck to revolutionize the way men shop for clothing and accessories. In a billion dollar industry dominated by women and children, Evolve is “busting through that glass ceiling” and proving that indeed men can be savvy shoppers too. In a masculine boutique style environment Evolve offers casual to formal wear by designers like Armani, Hugo Boss, Brioni, Diesel and 7 for all mankind.

And, Evolve has fun doing it. Evolve's planned monthly men's night out features everything a man needs to know from how to match shirts and ties, pick a great bottle of wine and make the perfect martini. Each month they seek out an expert partner to provide this service to their customers. The collateral effect is that this is also great marketing exposure to the presenters enabling their business to benefit as well.
Evolves popular “Wish List” connects buyers and with certain items they might be looking for. When the item comes into the store we shoot a quick picture, text or email it over to the customer and then send it directly to our tailor where the customer just drops by and gets fitted or picks it up if we know the measurements in advance.

“Wow, he just bought an amazing Canali suit and never looked past his iPhone.”

With unemployment rates racing towards 10% Evolve has great interview suits to at a price struggling job hunters can afford. Need to make some money to get over the hump? Evolve can sell your gently used clothing and make hundreds of dollars for you as well. On the other end of the economy if you're just holding onto your money a little tighter these days then consignment shopping is for you. Evolve offers like new designer clothing for an average of 1/3 the retail price.

Want to give back? Evolve is happy to send the proceeds from your sales directly to your favorite charity.
