"I'm just painting that's still wet,
If you touch me I'll be smeared
You'll be stained
Stained for the rest of your life"
Why does the glass have to be half-empty? It's been really hard being away from my friends in KY. Much harder than I thought it would be. I miss everyone so much! Florida sucks incredibly bad and my living arrangements are torturous at best. I'm dying from lack of local music & art. The breeze in this state is like a blast from a hair drier set on "obliterate".
I am such a soft-hearted so-and-so. An orphaned kitten wanders up and I have to take it upon myself to nurse it back to health. Maybe 3 weeks old, orange marmalade, eyes are still blue. ::sigh:: I'm not even sure if it's a boy or girl or if it will make it another week. The momma ran out of milk so it was either watch it starve slowly, squeaking it's hunger pangs all day & night or feed it every 3 hours with an eyedropper till it either lives or...the other thing. And yes, I know, nature is supposed to take care of these things. But sometimes nature is a motherfucker. So I'm a surrogate mommy until further notice. Meow.
The time has come to hit the road and I will be slamming the pavement with gusto tomorrow morning. I'm taking a trip to Orlando, FL for New Years. My older sister lives there in a lovely sprawling house with lots of rooms and a bar that never runs dry. So we shall be whooping it up all night long...we may even remember some of it the next morning.
This will be quite a trip--about a 14 hour drive by my (MapQuest) calculations. But my fiance, such a dear, wants to drive the whole thing himself. Trust me, I offered my help and said I'd switch with him halfway there. But no, he's a he-man driving demon and can't be swayed. Much to my relief. Hell, I don't wanna drive! I'm more of a spectator when it comes to road trips.
Yeah, maybe my time would be better spent putting the finishing touches on packing instead of blogging...but who cares?! We're pretty close to packed and I needed a tiny break. Gotta bring Hello Kitty so I can snap cute pics of her along the way!
So off we go, in less than 12 hours. The open road, the endless potty stops, the changing radio stations, having Doritos and Dew for lunch...it's gonna be a blast!
